The Causes of Wrongful Convictions

DNA is a "God send" for wrongfully convicted individuals. Since DNA testing began in 1989, it has unequivocally proven that a significant number people – more than 250 – have been wholly innocent. This advance in forensic technology created the first significant set of data permitting the examination of patterns and systemic causes of wrongful convictions, from both a scholarly and 'in the trenches' perspective.
