Mr. Freeman, who is now known as Temujin Kensu because of his conversion to Buddhism, has served over 23 years for this offense. After studying the evidence of the case which led to his wrongful conviction, I can only conclude that he is wholly innocent of these charges. I am not alone in this determination. Everyone who has studied the record has come to the conclusion that Mr. Kensu was not involved in the murder for which he was convicted. The people on the list come from a wide variety of backgrounds and occupations: attorneys, retired judges and law enforcement officers, news reporters and people from many other walks of life. Our system of justice is good but not perfect. In Temujin’s case, a combination of mistakes and improprieties led to a terrible injustice, and he has paid the price with half of his life. Please allow him to come home to his friends and family and be the law abiding, productive citizen that he is. Sincerely. ******************************************** Click here to go to the Governor's site.
